ROBINSONS ABERSOCH TRIATHLON ROAD CLOSURES.
SATURDAY 29th JUNE 2019
There will be road closures and traffic restrictions put in place at this years Robinsons Abersoch Triathlon. They are important for the safety of all triathletes taking part and supporting spectators.
These will be in place for as short a time as possible and we will do everything we can to help people get around but some people will be affected. Please use this information to help you plan your movements & avoid inconvenience.
ROAD CLOSURE TIMETABLE
BIKE COURSE
Pt2 – Pt1. Lon Golff heading down to the beach (10:20 – 11:30)
NO ACCESS except for residents from Lon Sarn Bach down Lon Golff.
Pt3 – Pt5. Mynytho to Rhiw Rd (West side of CL Jones Builders) (9:30 – 11:15)
CLOSURE from the west side of CL Jones on the lane coming off the B4413 in Mynytho, to the turning to Llangian. Both Ways
Pt4. Balaclava Road (Nanhoron) (9:30 – 11:15)
CLOSURE for the whole of Balaclava Road.
Pt6 – Pt7. Lon Porth Neigwl (9:30 – 11:30)
CLOSURE on Lon Porth Neigwl 0.5km south west of Llangian lasting for 1.4km to Rhydolion. Both Ways
RUN COURSE
Pt8 – Pt9. Lon Pentre Bach (10:30 – 12:30)
CLOSURE of Lon Pentre Bach from entrance of Green Pastures to north east entrance off Lon Sarn Bach. Both Ways

To help protect the safety of the runners & spectators taking part in the Abersoch Land & Sea 10K and Abersoch Holiday Homes 3K races we have introduced some road closures.
These will be in place for as short a time as possible and we will do everything we can to help people get around but some people will be affected. Please use this leaflet to help you plan your movements & avoid inconvenience.
ROAD CLOSURE TIMETABLE
1. Lon Pen Cei in both directions (10:00 – 10:40)
From the closure at the north end of Lon Rhoslyn follow Lon Rhoslyn south for 300 yards before joining Lon Pen Cei by the Vaynol Pub
2. Lon Pen Cei access & A499 access to Abersoch (10:00 – 10:40)
Limited access into Lon Pen Cei available until 10:25 then a full closure for A499 access into Abersoch, Lon Pen Cei and Stryd Fawr till 10:40am
A. Lon Sarn Bach and Lon Pentre Bach (10:25 – 10:45)
From the closure outside the start of Lon Pentre Bach head back 900 yards along Lon Sarn Bach, turn right at the crossroads towards Llanengan for 1.1km. At the T-Junction turn right and head 2.7km to Abersoch.
B. Lon Pentre Bach & Green Pastures (10:25 – 10:45)
To avoid the closure head toward Llanengan. At the T-Junction turn right and head 2.7km to Abersoch. Turn right onto Lon Gwdryn to the end for Lon Sarn Bach.
C. Sarn Bach Crossroads (10:40 – 11:40)
Traffic control to protect runners crossing straight over for the Machroes end of beach.
The control also protects runners coming down the hill from Bwlchtocyn onto Lon Sarn Bach & then turning right at the Sarn Bach Crossroads.
* No access to Bwlchtocyn*
D. From east end of the lane to the Sarn Bach crossroads, past Trem Y Mor Caravan Park (10:30 – 11:59)
*Road closed between 10:45 – 11:30*
Before 10:45 and after 11:30 head south 600 yards up the single track lane to Bwlchtocyn. Turn right at the T-junction 700 yards down to Lon Sarn Bach.
E. Lane to Machroes beach car park (10:40 – 11:15)
Traffic control to protect runners crossing straight over from the bridle path onto the lane to the old lifeboat
F. Road from Porth Tocyn (10:40 – 11:45)
Drinks Station – Please show extreme caution to runners or avoid traveling during this time.
G. Porth Tocyn Road & lane access to beach (10:45 – 11:45)
*Road closed except in emergency* Please avoid during this time.
H. T-junction from Porth Tocyn to Bwlchtocyn (10:45 – 11:45)
*Road closed except in emergency* Please avoid during this time.
J. Bwlchtocyn Road to Lon Sarn Bach (10:45 – 11:45)
*Road closed except in emergency* Please avoid during this time.
I. Road to Bwlchtocyn off Lon Sarn Bach (10:45 – 11:45)
*Road closed except in emergency* Please avoid during this time. Restricted access & exit from the Cilan end of Lon
E. Road to Machroes beach & car park (9:35 – 9:50)
*Road Closed* To Machroes beach, at the entrance to the bridle path & start of lane leading to the old Lifeboat Station.
K. Road from Machroes beach & car park (9:35 – 9:50)
*Road Closed* From Machroes beach, for vehicles heading south up the hill. Runners may be clear before 9:50 to allow road to open earlier.

Some roads will be closed to secure key areas of the route while runners are on the course from 9:30am. Please check the locations and times to help you plan your movements during the race and avoid delays to your journey.
