FACE UP TO THE MOUNTAIN.
The heart of the challenge
THE ROC – Triathlon tough and redefined, with the country’s highest mountain at the heart.
Snowdon, Scafell Pike or Ben Nevis. This is a unique opportunity to focus your physical & mental strengths on an endurance triathlon that pushes the boundaries of traditional triathlons.
Put simply it’s Swim, Bike, Mountain, Bike, Run.

THE RACE
It's more like a formidable story with 5 chapters!
1.5km open water swim, bike leg (40km minimum), run to the summit of the countries highest mountain and back, return bike leg (40km minimum), finishing with a 1km run to the finish.
2 separate transitions positioned each end of the bike legs make this format possible. T1 at the start and T2 at the foot of the mountain. Mountain rucksacks including some compulsory kit are handed in at registration. These are taken to T2 ready to collect and returned afterwards.
A checkpoint 2/3rds up the mountain has a cut-off time that needs to be met in order to continue to the summit.

WHAT THEY SAY
Some quotes from those who have conquered THE ROC
“Thank you for a brilliant race yesterday. I race a lot on the domestic circuit and this was truly top notch. The little things that guys at the pointy end of racing really long for; marshaling, staffing, route choice etc – it was all faultless.” CONOR BARRASFORD (2019 winner)
“Everyone does triathlon. Everyone’s done an Ironman. You want something your mates haven’t done, that they’re going to look at and think f***ing hell.” JASON STOTT, ROC Finisher
“Thanks again for SUCH a fantastic event on Saturday. My friend and I had the BEST time. It was so well organised from start to finish and the staff/volunteers/supporters were next level. Probably the most fun I’ve had while ‘racing’” LUCY CRAIG (3rd Woman & Ironman Partnerships Manager, EMEA)
“With the race being on Snowdon, the views from top really added to the euphoria but the main thing was being able to look down and visibly see how much you had achieved. That was the most amazing thing – being able to actually see your achievement, how hard it was and what you had done.” PAUL HAWKINS, ROC finisher
“I loved this race because it is an epic adventure: you feel like you’ve gone on a journey as you emerge from the sea and conquer the highest mountain in Wales, all by your own steam. Furthermore, the event was well organised, the atmosphere friendly and there was a huge camaraderie among the competitors.” CATHERINE CONNELL (2019 Women’s winner)
