THE ROC SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP takes place on FRI 2ND & SAT 3rd SEPT 2022
It’s 115km in total. Abersoch Beach to the summit of Snowdon and back with a fantastic atmosphere on the beach where the race starts and finishes. Lots going on down on Abersoch Beach; music, beach bar, other races, sponsor activations including Adidas Eyewear, Zone3, Kinetica Sports Nutrician, 361° Running, Barefoot Science and physio expertise from Altius Healthcare. Come and join us and support the ROC athletes who will be pushing themselves to the limit to conquer THE ROC.

7:30pm: ROC Q&A – Chris Hawkins (BBC Radio 6 Music) interviews Sion Kelly Jones to discuss THE ROC WALES course & tips.
8:30pm: MOVE Against Cancer 2.5km BEACH TORCHLIGHT (Fun Run – £5 with 100% going to the charity) CLICK HERE to enter

SATURDAY
8:00am: THE ROC ‘START’ with 1.5km sea swim hosted by CHRIS HAWKINS (BBC Radio 6 Music)
10:30am: Johnny Rob RUN SUP RUN in aid of MOVE Against Cancer
11:00am Beach Bar Opens
11:30am: PRIZE GIVING – Johnny Rob RUN SUP RUN
11:40am: TOM MACAULAY & ANNABELLE (LIVE)
12:30am First ROC finisher expected, with finishers coming through till 5pm
2:30pm: DJ LIONEL
3:30pm: DJ ENDAF
5:00pm PRIZE GIVING – THE ROC
6:00pm: Beach Bar, Music and all activities on the beach finish.

MORE ROC INFORMATION
Near the cafe to the right of the slip ramp in the middle of Abersoch’s main beach (bottom of Golf Road).
It is hosted by BBC Radio 6 presenter Chris Hawkins and starts with ROC athletes running into the sea for a 1.5km swim with a course that stretches alongside the beach to the yacht club (SCYC) and back.
8:20am – 9:00am: They will leave the water and head up the slip ramp to transition, grab their bikes, then head off to Snowdon.
9:40am – 11:00am: THE ROC athletes will reach Nant Gwynant where they will rack their bikes at T2 and head up The Watkin Path on foot.
10:40am – 12:45pm athletes will reach the summit of Snowdon at the turnaround marker on the south side of the cafe (if you can be there to support them you’re a legend!).
11:15am – 2:45pm ROC athletes will arrive back down at Nant Gwynant to collect their bikes and head back to Abersoch
12:30pm FIRST COMPETITOR EXPECTED BACK
Be ready on Abersoch Beach from 12:30pm for the first ROC athletes to do the 1km beach run to the finish.
12:30pm – 5:00pm all competitors return to Abersoch and cross the finish.
5:00pm Prize giving.

RACE FOOD AVAILABLE AT THE BEACH CAFE
- Penne pasta with chicken
- Mexican bean chilli with tortilla chips and sour cream
- Thai green lentil soup with naan bread
There will also be a BBQ till 6:30pm on Friday and all day Saturday.
